Q:Is there a Grant to start a business?
A:There is very little assistance by way of cash grants or loans to help a new business to start. Usually this kind of funding has to be obtained via banks and other conventional lending institutions or through private means or investors. If you’re registered with Centrelink you may be eligible for the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS). Other methods of helping to finance your business idea can be through the various youth competitions such as Nescafe Big Break or Yellowpages Big Ideas Grants where you enter your business plan to be in the running for cash or goods as prizes.
