Who can join the Young Business Network ?
Membership of the Young Business Network (YBN) is aimed at young entrepreneurs 18-25 years, but can also include anyone involved in the youth field, interested in keeping up to date with events and information of interest to young entrepreneurs, or younger students who are considering starting a business now or in the future.
A typical member will be self motivated and dedicated to advancing the
image of young business people in the community.

By joining the Young Business Network (YBN) you’ll be part of a dynamic network of young people in a vast variety of businesses with the opportunity to connect, support and inspire each other through the online forum. You’ll be kept up to date with information and events of interest to young entrepreneurs by receiving regular online newsletters, become eligible for the special 50% discount price on all Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) workshops, and can occasionally be presented with special opportunities to raise the profile of your business through speaking engagements, networking or other events.

We encourage you also to visit the Business Information and Licence Centre (BILC), 553 Hay Street (Cnr Pier), Perth where you can explore the extensive range of books, use the free online research area for business research, and check out the licence database to find out what licences or regulations you need to comply with for your business.
While in the BILC you can also talk to the tax adviser to make sure you know how to comply with all of your tax obligations, and pick up two free Australian Tax Office (ATO) booklets “Tax basics for small business” and “Keeping your records”. You can also download these books from the ATO website www.ato.gov.au along with “E-Record” a very simple software program for keeping your financial records.
If you live in outer metropolitan or regional Western Australia, we suggest that you visit your local Small Business Centre where you can discover the services provided by them, and register your interest in being added to their database for local networking events and workshops such as Marketing Today and Cashflow Today.
